Kid Pointe
Kid Pointe is our Sunday morning environment for elementary-aged kids (K- 5th grade). In Kid Pointe, we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud and good leaders always care about them. Children are taught creative, age-appropriate curriculum. Our Bible lessons are both developmentally and spiritually appropriate for your child, and we can’t forget…. Fun! Our three statements in Kid Pointe is Love, Live, and Lead. We want to teach our children to love Jesus, live like Jesus , and lead others to Jesus.
What will my child experience?
Welcome: Each child is greeted at their classroom by our volunteers and small group leaders.
Music: Kids will engage in live, exciting worship. We use hand motions to make the music more engaging and allow the kids to praise God as loud as possible.
Small Group Environment: After participating in worship, kids travel to their small group classroom where their leaders help them memorize this week’s verse and take prayer requests. Small group leaders in Kidpointe are serious about having fun with kids and passionate about teaching the TRUTH. We want kids to see how God's word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, and to build friendships that will last. Every Sunday they connect with the same small group of kids and the same small group leader. That way they get connected and we have the best chance to establish a relationship that's going to matter when they need it most.
Large Group Environment: Children will stay in large group and the Bible Teaching will take place. It will be presented in an engaging, age-appropriate drama format and/or video curriculum. When we use drama’s, we use costumes, props, and characters from the story - anything that makes the Bible come to life. Volunteers will sit with their kids to encourage the children to pay attention and listen.
Small Group Environment (again): Children will get back into their small groups and volunteers will bring application of God’s Word to the kids, along with a craft, game, or discussion time to help children understand, remember, and apply God’s Word to their daily lives. The MAIN focus is to meet each child exactly where they are with God’s Word!
Kid Pointe Values:
Safety and Security! Children are important to God so they are important to us! Matthew 18:6 “But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”
Teamwork! Serving together lightens the load and strengthens the heart! Ecclesiastes 4:9-11 “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: 10 if one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?”
Intentional Bible Teaching! God’s Word changes lives! Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
Fun! We want to make Kid Pointe the best hour of their week!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is watching my child?
Kid Pointe has a team of volunteers who have gone through a comprehensive application process, a background check and an interview with a staff person.
How do I check my child in?
Check-In/Out Procedure: Parent will check child in at the welcome center. The parent and child receive matching security ID stickers that are valid for that day only. For check-out, the parent will show the security ID sticker to the child’s teacher. The teacher will verify that the parent’s number matches the child’s number and your child will be released to you. If you lose your ID sticker, you will be asked to show identification to pick up your child at the Registration Desk.
How safe is my child?
Security at doors: once your child has been checked in and has a nametag, they will not be permitted to leave the Kid Pointe room until they have properly been checked-out. We have adults stationed at each door to make sure your child is safe.
What if my child needs to go to the bathroom?
Bathroom Procedures: If a child ages 3 –5 needs to use the restroom, an adult will escort them to the bathroom. The adult will stand outside the door to make sure that no one enters the restroom while the child is in there and to offer assistance if needed. If assistance is needed, the adult asks another adult to accompany him or her into the bathroom in order to uphold our ‘two adult rule’. For children in grades K-5, they are sent to the restroom one at a time as needed.
What will my child learn in Kid Pointe?
Children continue to apply the Bible directly to their lives. Each week, trained volunteer leaders facilitate learning in both large and small group environments so kids will leave Kid Pointe knowing God’s truth (Bible story & key verse), why that truth is important for living today (Bottom line), and how to apply the truth in their own life (application). Kindergarten through fifth graders are also presented with an opportunity to truly respond to beginning a relationship with Jesus.
